(Apr 27, 2010) - In one of its best performances in its history, the Hearn won its record 21st state championship this weekend, taking all three major sweepstakes awards. Pat Cooney and John O'Brien won the varsity public forum championship, while Rich Chian and Teddy Kim and Alex Kane and Arthur Imperatore were co-champions in jv public forum. Mark Andriola and Joe Eddy and Vik Lobo and Tim Nowak were 3rd and 4th in varsity, while Nick Duva and James Elustondo were 3rd in jv. Robbie Flatow and Bobby McCooey were co-champions in jv Lincoln-Douglas debate, while Ryan McEvoy was the novice champion. Jack O'Malley was 3rd. Mike Barton and Ricky Altieri led the speakers by taking 1st and 2nd in varsity extemp, while Chris Siemer and Andrew Willis were 1st and 4th in jv. Other outstanding efforts included: Andrew Giambrone - 5th in varsity LD; Joe Clyne and Jose Almanzar - 3rd and 6th in dec; Dan Calano and Gabe Calleja - 5th in duo; Jonathan O-Neill - 6th in varsity reading.
