Regis High School is committed to developing the academic and intellectual abilities of its students. In addition, Jesuit education is committed to the development of the "whole person." Graduates of Jesuit schools should display enduring qualities of character: they should be educated in heart as well as mind.

Jesuit schools are committed to the ideals of Catholic Christianity. Regis includes theology as a component of its required academic program. The theology program aims at giving students an accurate and sophisticated understanding of the moral and doctrinal teachings of the Catholic Church.

There is a difference, however, between understanding and belief. Regis asks its students to understand Catholicism, but that faith takes different shapes in different individuals and it cannot be coerced or manufactured. In addition, faith undergoes change and maturation during the transition from childhood to adulthood. Regis is committed to creating an environment in which religious faith is valued and nourished. The liturgical and spiritual programs offered by Regis are essential expressions of the school's mission.

For Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, faith is active: the true believer is someone who recognizes the needs of the world around him, and acts, like Christ, in the service of those in need. Regis aims to produce graduates who are "men for others" - men who have dedicated their lives, in some fashion, to helping other people. The school attempts to emphasize moral and social issues throughout its academic curriculum, and places primary importance on its service programs.

All of the school's goals for the personal development of its students - intellectual, moral, spiritual, and emotional - must be understood with this end in mind: Regis students are asked to develop all their abilities so that they may be used in the service of others.
